Jack Messman
Chairman of the BoardMr. Messman most recently served as Chairman and CEO of Novell, Inc., an infrastructure software company. Mr. Messman led Novell's transformation into the Linux and open source software business. Prior experience includes roles as Chairman and CEO of Cambridge Technology Partners, Chairman and CEO of Union Pacific Resources Group Inc. (UPRG), a North American independent oil and gas exploration and production company; Jack was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Pollution Control, Inc., Union Pacific's environmental services company; as Managing Director of Mason Best Company of Houston, an investment banking firm; as Chairman and CEO of Somerset House Corporation, a publishing company owned by Mason Best; as Executive Vice President-Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors for Warner Amex Cable Communications, Inc.; as Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc.; as President and CEO of Novell, Inc. from 1982-1983; as President and CEO of Norcross Inc., a consumer products company; and, prior to 1973, as a partner in a Philadelphia investment banking firm.
Mr. Messman graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor of science in chemical engineering, and received his MBA with Distinction from the Harvard School of Business Administration.
Howard Jelinek
Board MemberHoward Jelinek is the founder and CEO/CTO of Electronic Design Associates (EDA) of Irvine, an electronics/software consulting and product-development company, and the founder of South Pacific EDA Ltd which is located in Christchurch, New Zealand since 1996. Howard is also a founding shareholder of Telogis. He has over 30 years of experience in high-level technology business and in the development of products using state-of-the-art technologies, including VLSI, DSP, FPGA, chip architecture, speech and audio algorithms, and rf design.
In addition, he was the founder of the IEEE Computer Society's International Parallel & Distributed Processing Symposium (IPDPS), which is in its 20th year and is also Board Chairman of the not-for profit musical ensemble, Hutchins Consort.
Howard received his AB and MSEE from Dartmouth College and has a PhD in Electrical Engineering. He has taught at universities in Southern California and the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand from 1965 to 1969.
A. Newth Morris, III
Board MemberNewth has served as President and Owner of Dixie Printing & Packaging for 18 years. Dixie is a state of the art manufacturer of Paperboard Folding Cartons for the retail market. He has served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Industry's National trade association. His other volunteer positions include Chairman of The Anne Arundel Community College Foundation Board, Member of the Anne Arundel County Ethics Commission, Chairman of the County Solid Waste Commission and State President of the Maryland Jaycees.
Newth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Stetson University in Deland, Fl.
A. Newth Morris, IV
Board Member and President of GeoBaseNewth is the President of the GeoBase Group and a Founder of Telogis. He has experience in embedded systems design, customer engineering and support and enterprise sales. Newth's past experience includes working for NRECA, a non-governmental organization, doing socio-economic studies of rural indigenous communities in Guatemala. His early training as technical liaison and customer support began with Electronic Design Associates (EDA, Costa Mesa) in product development (sister company to SPEDA). Additionally, his work experience includes systems design and project management.
He is currently on the board of Dixie Printing & Packaging in Glen Burnie, MD and has served on the boards of various community organizations.
Newth earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, 1996.
Dave Cozzens
Board Member and Chief Executive OfficerDave joins Telogis from Novell Corporation where he was most recently Vice President of Operations for Novell Americas, a $500 million business encompassing the US, Canada, and Latin America. Prior to this role, he held a number of senior executive positions at Novell including Area Vice President and General Manager for the Midwest and Federal businesses as well as the Vice-President of North America Consulting. Dave was also Vice President of Consulting at Cambridge Technology Partners (CTP) prior to that company's acquisition by Novell. Previously, Dave had launched and led CTP's Strategy Management Consulting practices in both the US and Europe.
Dave earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and an MBA in International Business from the Vienna School of Economics (Wirtschaftsuniversitat Wien)/University of South Carolina and attended the Masters Engineering degree program at Pennsylvania State University.
Steven R. Rabago
DirectorSteven has been financing and managing organizations and companies for the past 26 years. He began his career at Bank of America in 1974 and continued in commercial banking until 1983. Upon leaving the commercial banking industry, he started a financial advisory company that negotiated debt and equity financing for rapidly growing companies or those completing highly leveraged transactions. The financial advisory activity evolved into a management consulting practice that focused on situations that required both financial and management turnaround expertise. His business, executive and board level experience covers a diverse group of industries: chemical waste recycling, retail, commercial banking, childcare, food processing, real estate, information services, oilfield services, education, software, oil production, oil-refining, personal care, ambulance services, hospitality, restaurant, insurance, medical services and property management.
He has been on the boards of public and private companies; a volunteer board member on not-for profits boards; and held a publicly elected State office between 1996 and 2000.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration - Major Finance, Investments, 1978, California University at Long Beach.
