GeoStream Client APIs
GeoStream delivers mapping functionally over the Internet.
GeoStream consists of an integrated server and one or more Silverlight, JavaScript or ASP.NET clients. Using Web 2.0 technologies like AJAX and JSON remotely, GeoStream provides performance equal to or better than a thick-client solution delivered over the web to a number of different development environments, languages and targets.
ASP.NET
GeoStream .NET uses the same API as the core GeoBase library. This allows companies to develop from a single code base and deploy the map data and GeoBase engine either remotely or locally depending on the customer’s requirements.
JavaScript
The JavaScript API contains all of the function calls of the core Telogis GeoBase engine. Developers can access the full spectrum of geospatial functionality, in a browser environment – creating AJAX-based Web2.0 applications.
Silverlight
The new Silverlight API enables developers to create rich mapping and routing applications for the web using Microsoft Silverlight™. Leveraging the power and performance of Telogis’s GeoStream™ for the geospatial operations and Silverlight for the user interface design, programmers can now quickly offer modern, sophisticated web mapping experiences to their users from within the familiar Telogis GeoBase SDK. Silverlight supports a large subset of traditional GeoBase functionality, including:
- Ultra-smooth Pan and Zoom operations
- Advanced routing operations, visualization, and turn-by-turn instructions
- Forward and reverse geocoding
- Geofencing
- Map overlay and display of custom objects or layers – think mash-ups
Because the Silverlight API is built on top of Microsoft Silverlight 3, developers can take advantage of the powerful development environments provided by Visual Studio 2008 and Expression Blend 3 from Microsoft. Integration between your mapping and routing routines and the robust set of modern user interface components available in Silverlight enable unparalleled usability, productivity, and performance.
The Silverlight API is included in the GeoBase SDK download, available to registered members of the Telogis GeoZone. Get started today with a free 30 day trial.
