DOT Regulations Compliance
Staying compliant with DOT requirements is a high priority for both drivers and fleet managers. Failure to comply can result in heavy fines, loss of license or a fleet being stripped of its operating authority. It's even caused some fleets to stop trading altogether.
Telogis mobile work order software provides a range of DOT compliance features that make it easy for your drivers to stay legal and for you to identify areas that need attention, such as HOS violations or missed inspections.Mobile solutions
Hours of Service (HOS)
With every driver being issued a “Driver ID”, Telogis can record not just hours on the job, but also check for compliance with current HOS requirements (49 CFR Part 395).
It can record a driver’s activities, tracking whether they are on-duty, off-duty or sleeping. Drivers sign off on HOS records electronically; significantly reducing the amount of paperwork required both internally and when being reviewed by the DOT.More about HOS
DVIR Safety Inspections
DOT require that drivers perform DVIR vehicle safety inspections before they start a journey and when they finish at the end of their shift. Telogis provides drivers with a convenient checklist they can use to streamline safety inspections and record them electronically when completed.
The new Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate requires fleets to transition from paper Hours of Service (HOS) logs to using electronic logging before December 2017. Upgrade now to beat the compliance deadline and benefit from increased efficiency.
Cut back on the IFTA administrative paperwork involved with fuel tax compliance. With the ability in Telogis Fleet to report on mileage by state, laden or unladen, you can calculate accurate fuel tax reports. This makes any tax audits simpler and less time-consuming, as well significant savings in tax overpayments.
Stay compliant, safe and avoid DOT fines
As government regulations from the DOT become stricter and more complex, an automated electronic system will help you to stay on top of compliance, helping you to avoid heavy fines and improve overall fleet safety and administrative efficiency.
