Telogis Releases Version 2.7 of its GeoBase Platform
March 6, 2007 — Costa Mesa, CA Telogis – a leading provider of LBS systems and services, today announced the release of version 2.7 of its GeoBase Geospatial engine. GeoBase offers a scalable, feature rich, easy-to-use mapping engine that delivers core geospatial functionality in a software application. GeoBase supports numerous platforms in delivering functionality to enterprise applications and is used by many of the leading AVL and MRM software and systems companies.
GeoBase version 2.7 is a major upgrade that builds upon the power of the spatial engine.
- UTF-8 Support — GeoBase extends it's coverage footprint to areas such as China, Japan and Russia through extended character set support.
- Support for plug-in data sets — GeoBase now supports external weighting of streets for functions such as disabling streets for routing, adding real-time traffic and weather to route calculations.
- Geocoder improvements — The Geocoder functionality is now much smarter in choosing possible matches, resolving misspelling and conflicting information.
GeoBase takes the complexity out of geospatial software, while providing a rich Application Program Interface (API) and support tools for taking spatial data into scalable production. GeoBase 2.7 will be made available to existing customers through the GeoBase developer’s portal. A free evaluation developer's kit is available to the general public at http://www.technology4gis.com.
